Obituary for Edna Marie Brown (Black)

BROWN, Edna Marie (née Black) – Passed away surrounded by her family at home on Saturday, December 10, 2021. Edna was the beloved wife of the late Bill Brown for 64 years, who passed on November 5, 2021. Loving Mom of Donna Wilson (David), Joanne Brown (Greg Boyd), and Kim Wilson (Pete). Cherished Grandma of David, Jason, Randy, Christopher; Alannah, Karlee, Summer; Nicole and Candice, and Great-Grandma of 15. Dear sister of Gladys, Violet, Molly, Dorothy, Mary, and Betty. She will be missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Edna had a great sense of humor (even those “damn squirrels”) and would always say it like it was. She was a hard-working lady, and thoroughly enjoyed her gardening. She enjoyed all socials, being with her family, yodeling, playing euchre, Yahtzee, Bingo and ice fishing. This summer Edna was even able to go camping twice with Kim and Pete. She was a very God fairing lady, respected all traditions and would do anything for anyone. Edna was a very giving person who would give a shirt off her back to help. Edna was very independent, she felt lost when she lost her license and being able to ride in her ‘Red Rocket’. Edna loved to dance, even when she was ill, she would ask her son-in-law to dance. Her famous line was “dat’s nice” and “ya’ll come back now”. After her retirement, Edna looked forward to going to see Irene and Jo every Wednesday to get her hair done and getting her lottery tickets. Her sisters were a big part of her world.

A visitation will take place at the Stoddart Funeral Home, 24 Mill Street, Lindsay on Friday, December 17th from 6:00 until 8:00p.m. If desired, a memorial donation can be made to Hospice Georgina would be appreciated by the family.
