Obituary for Elmer Russell Brown

BROWN, ELMER RUSSELL - It is with heavy hearts the family of Elmer (Al) Brown announce the passing of our dearly loved husband and father on Thursday February 4, 2021 at Ross Memorial Hospital. After a short illness in his 84th year. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Barbara Brown (Abbott) and cherished by his daughters Carol Merritt (Ron) Brenda Craig (Jim) Patti Thornton (Bob) Lisa Moffatt (Chris) and Debby Saunders (John). Much loved Papa of David, Derek & Ariel, Darryl & Katie, Jennifer & Lee, Chrissie, Kory & Jennifer, Cassie & James, Kyle & Chrissie, Caitlin & Gagon, Travis & Mary, Brandon & Matt, Bradley & Aleysha, Justin & Marrisa, Mike & Erin. Cherished Great Papa of Paige, Delilah, Anita, Ivy, Jack, Rylea, Keegan, Silas, Atticus, Caleb, Kyla, Kevin, William, Tiauna-May. Elmer was the youngest son of late Robert & Maude Brown of Scugog Island. Elmer was predeceased by brothers Harry, Edgar, Roy & Clint and sisters Olive Cox and Lyla Gimblett. He is survived by sisters Ruby Slute, and Renee Skuce (Don). Dear brother-in-law of Rita, Sylvia, Jean and Joyce.
Elmer leaves behind many cherished nieces and nephews, close friends, great neighbours. Al retired in 2002 from the Region of Durham Works Dept. He very much enjoyed family get-togethers and a good game of Euchre as well as poker. He was an avid hunter and loved to feed the birds. The family wishes to thank all the wonderful Doctors and Nursing staff at both Ross Memorial and Peterborough Hospitals for their exceptional kindness and care. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be planned for a later date. Donations to the Women's Resources in Lindsay would be appreciated by the family or a Charity of your choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Stoddart Funeral Home 24 Mill St Lindsay, Ontario.
