EVA E. JOHNSTON (née Steadman) - Entered into rest at Victoria Manor at the age of 101 on February 13, 2021. Eva was the last surviving sibling of the late Wm. Henry Steadman and his wife Nellie (née Hill of Lestershire, England, Lineage) of Aurora, Ontario. Eva was the wife of the late Owen Johnston together they ran a family business in real estate before retiring to sunny Florida for the winters. Eva lived a spirit filled biblical life. She was the cherished mother of the late William “Bill” (survived by wife Ann), Denis and his wife Audrey, the late Pat, David, Ross, Margaret, Mary Graham and Pauline. She will be missed by her many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Visitation will take place at the Stoddart Funeral Home, 24 Mill Street, Lindsay on Friday, February 19th from 11:00 until 12:45p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church at 1:00p.m. Interment to follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Lindsay. If desired, memorial donations to the Ross Memorial Hospital Foundation can be made at Stoddart Funeral Home or online at

It was always a pleasure to drive Eva to her card games and other events. She was upbeat, comical and feisty. Eva spoke lovingly of her family - may she rest in paradise with a deck of cards nearby.
