Draper, Gerald A. – Passed away suddenly at the Ross Memorial Hospital on Monday, November 9, 2020. Gerald at the age of 83, is the loving husband and best friend of Wendy Draper. He is the cherished father of 10, Grandpa of 18 and Great-Grandpa of 8. He was a great outdoorsman; trapping was Gerald’s passion which he did for 69 years. Gerald started fishing at the age of 2 and had his own fishhut at the age of 5. He will be missed by his friends on the Lake Simcoe Fishing Board and his friend on the hunting board. In keeping with Gerald’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. If desired, a memorial donation to the Wounded Warriors would be appreciated by the family. Donations and condolences can be made at Stoddart Funeral Home, 24 Mill Street, Lindsay or online at

To the family of Gerry: I have known Gerry most of my life from his many years here in Sutton. I worked for Doel Ford and Sutton Ford and he was a regular visitor and would stop and have a coffee and have a chat. Gerry worked hard and always like to keep in touch with people in Town. He has earned his Rest. My condolences to his family.

I haven't seen Gerald in many years but have fond memories of summer visits back and forth in our childhood and teen years.
He is my first cousin as our mothers were sisters and he is a member of the Woolley clan. Our fathers were friends before and after marrying the Woolley sisters.

Condolences to Wendy and the family. Many good memories of Gerry. Our neighbour in Jackson’s Point for many many years. I was maid of honour at his and Wendy’s wedding and shared many a laugh. Gerry was quite the character and had a a great sense of humour. He loved the outdoors and fished and hunted for more years than I can remember....we were happy recipients of fish and ducks. Remember when he came to the rescue with a fire extinguisher when the bbq caught on fire or the lending of a trap when the minks attacked our chicken coop. He was always there to lend a hand. Gerry you may be gone physically but your memory will remain with us in peace. Say hi to my dad up there!
