Jackie (Tjaaktje) Kirkpatrick (née Koolhof) – July 22, 1938 – December 18, 2022 ~  Jackie passed away peacefully surrounded by her family.  She was the beloved wife of Carl Kirkpatrick who left us just last year.  Jackie was the much-loved mother of Keith (Cathy), Tom (Kellie), Greg and her devoted daughter Susan.  Her grandchildren will hold happy memories of Grandma and summer fun with her around the pool.  She will be missed by Ryan, Kyle, Adam, Stephen, Justin, Aleksandr, Yvonne and their families.  Jackie was the dear sister of John, Cory, Gerry Koolhof, and in-laws Ian Marsh and Jean Kirkpatrick.  She will be fondly remembered by her nieces and nephews and family in the Netherlands. 

Jackie’s early years were marred by war in her native Netherlands and her final years by the effects of Alzheimer’s disease.  Yet despite this, Jackie loved to laugh and have fun.  She could laugh at herself and enjoyed getting into trouble with her best friend and cousin also named Tjaaktje. She was an avid gardener and was always proud to take visitors on a tour of her beautiful gardens.  Her love of music stayed with her to the very end.  Carl and Jackie were lucky to have enjoyed lots of travel in their retirement and she loved her visits to Cayman Islands.  

Jackie spent her last 12 years at Extendicare Lindsay and the family is very thankful for their years of devotion to Jackie’s care.  Their kindness in Jackie’s last days was heartwarming and very much appreciated.  

A visitation for Jackie will be held on Saturday, January 21st, 2023, at Celebrations, 35 Lindsay Street North, Lindsay from 10:00am until time of funeral service at 11:00am.  Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery, following will be a Celebration of Life for both Carl and Jackie at Celebrations, from 1:00pm until 3:00pm. In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
