Obituary for Kathleen May Cline (Mack)

Kathleen "Kate" Cline ~ It is with great sadness that the family of Kathleen May Cline announces her passing on December 13th, shortly before her 95th birthday. Predeceased by her loving husband of 63 years, Stanley Owen Cline, and dear sister Florence Wordock (John) and brother Bill Mack (Rita). Loving mother to Craig (Monique), Christine Bashford (Grant) and Joanne Hormann (Frank). Cherished grandmother of Corrine, Mackenzie, Graham, Ian and Alex and great-grandmother to ten.

Kate was born in Hamilton in 1927, second child of Florence Black Mack and Bill Mack. She married the love of her life, Stan, in 1948. Right up to the end she put up a valiant defense against aging by fibbing about her age. It is only because she raised honest children that we can publish her true age here, although the joke might be on us, as she may have really only been seventy-two, as she recently claimed.

Mom raised her loving family in the Rosedale district of Hamilton and worked at Confederation Life, Sears and as an assistant librarian with the Hamilton School Board, a job she cherished. Kate loved to entertain, at the cottage on Halls Lake and, at their home in Punta Gorda, Florida. She enjoyed doing the daily crossword in the Star, and a rousing game of euchre or cribbage. Always up for a glass of wine (pour me a tiddle, dear, Kate was the focal point of any family gathering. Kate will be dearly missed and, in our hearts, always.
