McGUCKEN / SARGENT, Laura Edna (nee Brown) – Entered into rest peacefully on Wednesday, November 30, 2022, on her 98th birthday, at Ross Memorial Hospital. Laura is predeceased by her late husbands Albert Sargent (1993), and the late Andy McGucken (2017), parents Mira and Frank Brown, stepfather Everard Goodin, and siblings; Helen, Willis, Myrl, Royden, and Russell. Survived by sisters Jennie and Eileen; sister-in-law Pat; daughter Sharon (Joe) and beloved niece Doreen (Wally); Grandchildren Cindy (Patrick), Jim (Michelle), Bob (Ali), Heather (Steve), Leana (Steve), and Paul (Rosie); 9 Great-Grandchildren Neave, Regan, MacKenna, Myles, Finley; Alicia, Cameron, Maya and Ava; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
Laura had a love for modern square dancing, which led to the creation of LaurAl Crinolines - a business that she maintained for many years. She enjoyed 25 of her winters in Mesa, Arizona with family and friends, and loved traveling especially by car and motorhome. The biggest joy of her life was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A graveside interment service will be held Sunday, December 18th at 11:00am at Riverside Cemetery, Lindsay and a Celebration of Life will follow at Stoddart Funeral Home, 24 Mill Street, Lindsay from 12:00pm – 2:00pm.
