Obituary for Michael Orlando Williams

Williams, Michael Orlando – born on September 12th, 1944 Michael passed away peacefully at the age of 77 listening to one of his favourite songs, “The Blue Danube Waltz” in the morning of March 21, 2022 at Hospice Quinte in Belleville, Ontario. Mike was the beloved son of the late Ellen & Howard Cowie and the best friend of the late Doug Vance. He is survived by Jason Vance (Annette), Jim George (Melissa) and Christopher Grimshaw. Will be truly missed by Doreen Laird, Maha Majeed, and Maureen Eggleton and many more. Michael’s love for Shelby, Hudson, Adalyn, Carter, Lily and Cassidy was endless along with many more he adored.

Mike was a thankful, strong, knowledgeable, hardworking, powerful and determined man of his word. Michael had a passion for all living things! His hobbies included the fish in his pond and fish room, gardening and building things in the wood shop. In his spare time, it wouldn’t be uncommon to find him at the Bingo hall!

Michael worked at Goodyear in Etobicoke up until his retirement. After retirement he helped out at Nature’s World Pet Centre, before moving to Shelburne where he started working in his garden and wood shop. He later moved to Marmora, Ontario where he could enjoy the fresh air and country.

In keeping Mike’s wishes, interment will take place at the Riverside Cemetery located at 347 Lindsay Street South, Lindsay on Saturday March 26th, 2022 at 1:00pm. As Michael would say, “If you are not early then you are late”. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorial donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or by planting a Hosta plant in your garden in memory of him.
