Obituary

Battah, Paul Joseph (April 9, 1964 – May 23, 2021) ~ in his 58th year passed away on Sunday, May 23, 2021 at the Ross Memorial Hospital after a brief battle with cancer. Beloved husband and best friend of Leeanne. Loving father of Taylor and Travis. Beloved son of the late Henry (2021) and Jeanne (2016). Cherished brother of Denis (Cathy), Bernice (Ron) and Janet. Loved son-in-law of Rose Roth and the late Harvey (2009). Dear brother-in-law of Michael Roth and Stacey Roth. Proud uncle of 6 and great uncle of 5. He will be remembered by his many friends, co-workers, neighbours and extended family. In keeping with Paul’s wishes, cremation has taken place and due to COVID-19 a Celebration of Life may take place at a later date once restrictions have been lifted. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation to the Kawartha Lakes Animal Wellness Society or the Canadian Mental Health Association of Kawartha Lakes would be appreciated by the family.

The family would like to thank Dr. Mallory of Peterborough Regional Health Centre, Paramed Staff Kawartha Lakes – especially Ashley, for all the care and compassion shown over the last month. Thank you to the Paramedics and the emergency staff of the Ross Memorial Hospital.

Paul was a wonderful husband, father and friend, he will be dearly missed by all of those who knew him.

Leanne, Taylor & Travis,
We are so deeply saddened to hear of Paul's passing, our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. It has been many years since we have seen each other. Our boys went to school together and played sports together, we were just talking about you guys the other day reminiscing of those times. Paul was a kind man with a great sense of humour, RIP Paul.
Thinking of you all, Scott & Des Lodge and Bobby Grabarczyk

Sending our thoughts to Leeanne, Travis & Taylor. We always enjoyed time with Paul at the rink and on the soccer pitch. At this time of grief and sorrow, may memories help to ease your pain and always keep Paul close to your hearts. John & Tracy Dunn

Sorry for your loss. I worked with Paul many years ago. He was a great guy. Not much contact with him in the later years, but always said hi when we did see each other. Blessings to the family

Paul's peers and co-workers are so saddened by his passing. Most comments from the casino crew all seem to mention his great sense of humor. We were the lucky ones if we happened to get him as our Supervisor for the day...there would never be a dull moment. Paul also showed great respect to all and never seemed to get upset with one of his dealers over silly mistakes. It wouldn't take Paul very long to figure out how far he could push you with his crazy sense of humor. I would just say let it rip Paul!!! All the good memories will help so many get through the sadness. Leeanne, he was one of kind as a dear friend.
