WHEELER, Robert Howard – Peacefully at Perth & Smiths Falls District Hospital, Bob entered into rest on Monday February 22, 2021 in his 88th year. Predeceased by his wife of 35 years and the mother of his children, Shirley Isabelle (Hobbs) and his wife of 28 years, Margaret Elizabeth (Simmonds). Father to Michael Wheeler of La Conception, QC, Barbara (Paul) Christie of Whitby, Tim of Port Dover, Linda (Bob) of Lanark and David of Carp. Step-father to Tony (Joanne) Elvin, Gary (Frances) Elvin and Lorraine (Pete) Harris. Grandfather to 9: Marika, Patrick, Claire, Derek, Lauren, Sheena, Lucas, Michael and Daniel. Step-grandfather to nine, great grandfather to 12 and step-great grandfather to 8. Dear brother of Connie (Ernie deceased) Swain, Glenn (Loretta) Wheeler and Dianne Pierson. Remembered by many nieces and nephews.
Bob will be remembered by his friends of his years in Cartwright Township as a man involved in the community. As Bagheera in the Cub Scout Troop, to being Township School Board trustee, to his involvement in many United Church projects, he found ways to give to the place he called home.

Bob’s life in Lindsay after Shirley’s death and his marriage to Margaret saw him devote most of his summer months to working on their property on Sturgeon Lake, and any one of his many pet projects. Winters in Florida were enjoyed at their home in Port Richey along with exploring various parts of the world.

If desired, a memorial donation to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family. Online donations and condolences can be made through Stoddart Funeral Home, 24 Mill Street, Lindsay or online at www.stoddartfuneralhome.com
