Obituary

CURRIE-MILLS, Sharon Anne (née McMahon) - Entered peacefully into rest surrounded by her devoted family on Tuesday, June 1st, 2021. Sharon was the beloved wife of Brian and loving Mom to Scott (Sabina), Mark (Monica), and Noelle (Mike). Cherished Grans of Ashlea, Sean, Tessa and Theo. Dear sister of Geraldine (Allan), Rae (Joan), Patrick, James, Reginald, Frank (Barbara), Thomas, and Wilfred. And loving daughter of her parents John and Edna (née Menard) McMahon. She will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Sharon was passionate about her family and treasured the many adventures shared with her husband, children, grandchildren and her beloved pets; Max, Chelsea, and Quigley and grand-pets; Nilla, Bear, Normie, and Henry. Sharon also had a life-long passion for learning which is evidenced by her love of reading, dedication to teaching, and how she inspired her children, grand-children and students alike to reach for their dreams.

She was a dynamic person full of zest for life and enjoyed a multitude of other interests; a gardener's green thumb, a fantastic cook, a love of travel, music and theater - all of which of course were enjoyed with family and friends. Her charm, compassion, humour, warmth and kindness was felt by, and will be missed by, all who knew her.

An intimate family service will take place at the Stoddart Funeral Home, 24 Mill Street, Lindsay on Monday, June 7th 2021 at 11:00 am. Our condolences to Brian and family. Our memories are fond and many. Sharon was a lovely wife and mother, a good “valley girl”. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. Hopefully we can get together in the near future. Bob and Gail Harty

My condolences to Brian and family on the passing of Sharon. My memories of Sharon go back to our time around the Pickering Potbellies, whether at games or gatherings. Sharon was known as "Momma Bear" and Brian as "Poppa Bear", always fun to be around.

I can remember my first time meeting Sharon, her signature warmth and openness, immediately setting me at ease. Over the years I have been touched many times by her kind welcoming ways. A committed teacher and life-long learner, at a baby shower we attended together I recall her expressing pure glee at beginning guitar lessons, close to if not after retirement no less! Her gardening prowess was without question, but her greatest work of art is most definitely the beautiful and loving family she created.
